The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence voted along party lines yesterday to reject a Democratic proposal to investigate the Bush administration's domestic surveillance program and instead approved establishing, with White House approval, a seven-member panel to oversee the effort.

Congress seems to be painfully unaware of the fact that they are violating the Constitution in spite of the fact that they are sworn to defend it.  Perhaps they like some of the rest of America are buying into this Administration’s repeated attempts to justify their actions with nothing more than their own affirmations that the President does in fact have this authority and power.

Well the President does not.  They can't justify it with any tangible evidence because it doesn't exist.  What the President has done and continues to do is a crime.  Frankly I think a strong case can be made for treason given the oath of office President Bush took combined with his consistent public disregard for the laws of our land.  If "Homeland Security" (which causes an alarm bell in my head ever time I hear, see, or say the name) were doing its job scooping up the President would be the first stop on their morning round-up.  I can think of no bigger threat to America than our President and his disregard for the principles our Republic is founded and exists on.

Cut to the chase, replace Homeland with Fatherland and let's get on with it.  Declare yourself Supreme Ruler of America Mr. Bush.  This slow painful approach is too much.  But yes I understand to do so would violate your real agenda.  Don't want the water to get too hot otherwise the frogs will jump out when you dump them in the pot.  Yes. a slow simmer is likely the best approach for now.  The good news for you is the agenda has worked.  America has been worked over, we've got an entire generation in their 40's and below that have no real grasp of history.  Their aren't enough of us that do to wake everyone up.  Most Americans are so painfully unaware of the parallels between your administration and other Totalitarian Regimes.  I hate to stick to the old Nazi cliché, but it fits very well.  It's Fascist origins do make it fit well with what you are doing.

Let's jump back to 2002 and look at a commentary from four years ago.

One cannot help but be reminded of Nazi Germany and how people could be thrown in jail or worse simply on the word of a neighbor. , President Bush has proposed an initial recruitment of one million volunteers - letter carriers, utility workers, cable installers, and others whose jobs allow them access to private residences - to report "suspicious" activity. This would mean that peoples' homes will be searched without cause or warrants, and it would also turn neighbor against neighbor and potentially generate thousands of unreasonable and unwarranted charges against innocent people, charges that would sap federal investigator resources.

Take a moment to read the whole thing it's quite good. 

At this point it's become very clear that our liberties are under attack.  The President has no regard for the law or for our liberties.  Congress will do nothing to oppose this President.  Yes they pipe up on occasion to sound good, but they are soon back in bed, at the golf course, or eating a several hundred dollar dinner on the tab of some lobbyist.  Perhaps they think when it's all said and done they'll be safe.  The President will hand them some spiffy looking uniform and put them in control of this office or that program?

Frankly, I'm at a loss.  The Constitution is bleeding from a thousand tiny wounds at this point.  I believe it's getting to the point where we can almost count the days until it falters and succumbs to its wounds.  It's time to wake up to take some action.  If you don't take your country back, your country will take you.

Every day you should write your Congress.  Contact your State representation and encourage them to do what the Constitution tells them to.  Hold the Federal Government accountable.  The States must begin to take back the power as Sovereign States in a Constitutional Republic.  The ever growing all-encompassing Federal Government must be stopped.
