Congress: That Corrupt or Simply Stupid?
It's an offensive sounding question but the most fitting I could come up with. I think for all its offensive nature it's a question that must be asked. I've selected just a couple of the stories popping up today on it but there are several if you take a moment and search for them.

The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence voted along party lines yesterday to reject a Democratic proposal to investigate the Bush administration's domestic surveillance program and instead approved establishing, with White House approval, a seven-member panel to oversee the effort.

Congress seems to be painfully unaware of the fact that they are violating the Constitution in spite of the fact that they are sworn to defend it. Perhaps they like some of the rest of
Well the President does not. They can't justify it with any tangible evidence because it doesn't exist. What the President has done and continues to do is a crime. Frankly I think a strong case can be made for treason given the oath of office President Bush took combined with his consistent public disregard for the laws of our land. If "Homeland Security" (which causes an alarm bell in my head ever time I hear, see, or say the name) were doing its job scooping up the President would be the first stop on their morning round-up. I can think of no bigger threat to
Cut to the chase, replace Homeland with Fatherland and let's get on with it. Declare yourself Supreme Ruler of America Mr. Bush. This slow painful approach is too much. But yes I understand to do so would violate your real agenda. Don't want the water to get too hot otherwise the frogs will jump out when you dump them in the pot. Yes. a slow simmer is likely the best approach for now. The good news for you is the agenda has worked.
Let's jump back to 2002 and look at a commentary from four years ago.

Take a moment to read the whole thing it's quite good.
At this point it's become very clear that our liberties are under attack. The President has no regard for the law or for our liberties. Congress will do nothing to oppose this President. Yes they pipe up on occasion to sound good, but they are soon back in bed, at the golf course, or eating a several hundred dollar dinner on the tab of some lobbyist. Perhaps they think when it's all said and done they'll be safe. The President will hand them some spiffy looking uniform and put them in control of this office or that program?
Frankly, I'm at a loss. The Constitution is bleeding from a thousand tiny wounds at this point. I believe it's getting to the point where we can almost count the days until it falters and succumbs to its wounds. It's time to wake up to take some action. If you don't take your country back, your country will take you.
Every day you should write your Congress. Contact your State representation and encourage them to do what the Constitution tells them to. Hold the Federal Government accountable. The States must begin to take back the power as Sovereign States in a

Someone help. FDR's social plan is getting ripped apart. I don't know who's watching; I don't have adequate health care (Medicare Part D is killing me) Our Vets keep standing in line for assistance which is not forthcoming; My property (Education) tax increase is directly related to cutbacks in Federal Aid to the States.
We are hated worldwide for our Imperialism; A mortal sin in any Republic.
I was part of the middle class in 2000, now I'm in the unhappy lower class. My niece lost her child care subsidy and has had to stop working to care for the children and thus is now on welfare. My nephew just got denied a student loan -- NO FUNDS AVAILABLE.
The real tragedy is I'm not alone in this mess. Everyone I speak to has a similar problem.
I voted for Bush and I'm truly sorry for that. It won't happen again.

I'm truly sorry to hear about the state of your life at this point. There is nothing I can say that will make it all better, in fact, I'm quite certain things are going to get much worse for all of us before they get better. Soon I believe you will also have lost your ability to freely criticize the Federal Government for their crimes and inept behavior.
FDR's social plan was never a good long term solution. It was however a good immediate solution. However because the Government latched on to it and treated it as a long term solution it was doomed to fail the people it was designed to uplift. However I do believe based on how it was structured and done that the state you are in now is exactly where you were supposed to end up. It's a control mechanism that has robbed you of options and your power. That's the trap. In the end the goal has always been to expand the size of the poor populance in America. This robs people of their power and America of its sovereignty.
Yes our Imperialism is a mortal sin for a Republic. No good can come of it for the American people. However the "elite" which is synonomous with "criminals" continue expand their power base and weatlh because of it. All on the tab of the American taxpayer and the lives of patriots serving their country in faith and honesty.
I voted for Bush too. On one hand a serious mistake, but on the other hand, Kerry would have been no better.
One President that belongs to secret society of elitists is much like another that belongs to the same secret society which cannot be discussed.
We need a candidate to run who serves the American people not the rich and powerful.
