<BR><BR>Well in some ways I suppose they might have.&nbsp; I'd propose rather that they've made them different.&nbsp; They've made them lighter.&nbsp; They've made them hold more rounds.&nbsp; But they haven't made a finer or more reliable handgun than the 1911.<BR><BR>I've yet to determine where the reputation of always having feed issues and what not comes from.&nbsp; My 1911's all run flawlessly.&nbsp; The design is so simple that you can break the entire pistol down and rebuild it with new springs and put it back in service within 15 minutes with only a couple of tools.<BR><BR>The 1911 is a natural pointer driven largely by the grip angle.&nbsp; While I certainly can't say anything "bad" about Glocks.&nbsp; I don't personally like them.&nbsp; I don't like the grip angle one bit.&nbsp; By the way it's not a hatred of plastic pistols either.&nbsp; There are some plastic or "composite" pistols I like just fine.&nbsp; The FNP-40 is one.&nbsp; The Walther P99 is another.&nbsp; There are certainly worse things to be lost in the woods with than a Glock.&nbsp; One will just never be my first choice.<BR><BR>Here's a couple of my favorites.&nbsp; First a Kimber Custom II that I decided to rework.&nbsp; That was an adventure and something I think everyone should do at least once.<BR><BR><IMG src="http://images.quickblogcast.com/9198-8840/noserkimb1024.jpg" width=700 border=0><BR><BR>Second is a 32 year old Colt Combat Commander that I rescued in horrid shape.&nbsp; Someone had abused this poor pistol to near destruction.&nbsp; I brought it back from the dead and would trust my life to it in an instant.<BR><BR><IMG src="http://images.quickblogcast.com/9198-8840/noserial640.jpg" width=650 border=0><BR><BR>Next project which I've just started is reworking a Rock Island Armory pistol.&nbsp; These aren't the fanciest 1911 out there, but they are a reliable and good shooter which can be picked up new for $350.&nbsp; We'll see how it turns out.<BR><BR>I suppose the point of all this is, if like me you've made a circuit of the handgun world looking for the "ultimate" handgun but you haven't spent some time with a 1911 in awhile.&nbsp; But what really gets me is when a company comes so close to being the best they can be and then falls short in silly ways.<BR><BR>Today's topic is my experiences with Para-Ordnance and their 1911 pistols.<BR><BR>I've now officially owned two of these.&nbsp; While that isn't a large sampling of firearms from a manufacturer it is a good start to determining whether that number will ever grow.&nbsp; Now while I say I've had two of these that is not to imply at the same time.<BR><BR>I had one, which I purchased brand new, and then quickly rid myself of, leaving me with none.&nbsp; Then some time later I acquired a second Para used, which will likely not stay in my possession as long as the first one.<BR><BR>So now all that is missing is the details.<BR><BR>The first pistol was a Para LTC (which is their version of a Commander sized 1911) which was finished in an interesting "midnight blue" color.<BR><BR>After purchasing the pistol in question I took it to the range to break it in and see how it shot.&nbsp; I have to say that the first trip to the range left me loving that Para pistol.&nbsp; It was accurate, easy to shoot, and in general just felt right.<BR><BR>The love affair ended on the second trip to the range when I noticed that the ejector on said pistol was starting to look like a mushroom on the end.&nbsp; By 500 rounds down range it had progressed to the end of the extended ejector being peened back to the point that it was interfering with the slide of the pistol.<BR><BR>Also the rear sight had come loose which is in general not a big deal, it tightens up with the hex set screw.&nbsp; Unfortuantely the rear sight which appeared to be of some composite material vs. metal, did not want to tighten as the dovetail on it was deforming and was causing it to lift up high in the dovetail slot.<BR><BR>Well I did what I think any normal person would do and called Para-Ordnance about my now week old pistol.<BR><BR>Their response?<BR><BR>Well apparently the ejector had not been properly hardened.&nbsp; (Ya think?)<BR><BR>As for the sight, it was defintely not plastic (sure looked like it to me) but either way they could fix that at the same time, unless of course I wanted to send them a check for $99 to put night sights on it.<BR><BR>All I needed to do was spend $20-30 to overnight the pistol to them and they'd get right on it.<BR><BR>Um, yeah well you see I just dropped a ton of cash on buying this thing, so why would I spend $30 to send something with a third rate (not properly hardened parts) back to them to replace with more parts that may or may not have been properly hardened.<BR><BR>I argued that they should issue a call tag and pay to ship the pistol, they refused.<BR><BR>My solution?&nbsp; I went back to my dealer and argued with him until he took it back and I went home with a brand new 1911 from another manufacturer.&nbsp; That pistol now has around 8,000 rounds down the barrel, with as much as a hiccup.&nbsp; <BR><BR>All in all pretty shoddy for a company that says they have the best service:<BR><BR>

<TD bgColor=#ffffff><FONT color=black>Stainless Steel</FONT></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><BR><IMG src="http://images.quickblogcast.com/9198-8840/CTX1345Sphoto.gif" width=285 border=0><BR><BR>Well, you guessed it, things did not go well&nbsp;with this one either.&nbsp; At some point in the future I'll go into more detail on why&nbsp;I at least have determined the LDA trigger is not something I want my life to depend on, but for now we'll stick to just the issues with this pistol.<BR><BR>Most of the time you pull the&nbsp;trigger and it goes bang.&nbsp; However randomly, yet frequently, it will strike the primer of the&nbsp;bullet too lightly and not fire.&nbsp; There are&nbsp;times where you can go through 2 or 3 magazines without a failure and at other times, it may do it every two or three shots.&nbsp; Needless&nbsp;to say, this&nbsp;particular pistol fails miserably at the one thing a pistol absolutely MUST do.<BR><BR>Now as&nbsp;for feel of the LDA trigger, it's incredible.&nbsp; Accuracy of the pistol?&nbsp; Both Para pistols discussed here were wonderfully accurate and a pleasure to shoot.&nbsp; Yet BOTH suffered from mechanical ailments that rendered them useless as a defensive firearm.<BR><BR>My calls to Para about the Tac-Four went even&nbsp;worse than the LTC.&nbsp; Since I bought this pistol used vs. new, there of course is no warranty as that only applies to the&nbsp;original owner.&nbsp; So if I'd like to send it in and pay $30 in shipping as well as what they believe would be about $63 they&nbsp;could fix it.<BR><BR>Yeah I'm going to toss $100 at a not very old pistol to get it to do what a pistol should do?<BR><BR>Nope I simply sold it off to someone at a good price that wanted to deal&nbsp;with it.<BR><BR>I doubt I'll invest in another Para pistol.&nbsp; I'm 0 for 2 which to me is not good odds.&nbsp; Especially when compared to companies&nbsp;like Springfield that WILL back their warranty (generally speaking) for second owners.&nbsp; But then again, none of my Springfields or my Kimbers have ever needed to go back to be serviced.&nbsp; The&nbsp;FN pistol I mentioned earlier was taken care with exceptional customer service.&nbsp; All in all, why would I bother with another Para?<BR><BR>This is a company that comes so close, but just falls short in such silly ways.&nbsp; It's quite disappointing.&nbsp; I really WANT to like Para-Ordnance.&nbsp; I want their products to be top notch.&nbsp; Unfortunately in my two gun experience they just aren't and worse, I can't say Para seems to care.<BR><BR><BR>&nbsp;]]></content><summary>Being an avid shooter I like to recognize both good and not so good service in &lt;br&gt;

<P>Headlines like the above make it seem as if we need new legislation because Cho obtained his firearms legally.&nbsp; OK great!&nbsp; He however BROKE the law when he brought them on campus.&nbsp; He BROKE the law when he decided to murder people.&nbsp;&nbsp;He BROKE a book full of existing laws.</P>
<P>The people he shot were NOT breaking the law.&nbsp; Hence they could not defend themselves.&nbsp; Virginia has concealed carry.&nbsp; Like in every other instance violent crime has fallen drastically in Virginia.&nbsp; Concealed carry is a HUGE crime deterrent, every place but “victim disarmament” zones.</P>
<P>The irony is legislation was attempted to insure that Virginia carry permit holders could be armed on the University campus was introduced and shot down with the assistance of VA Tech’s management.</P>

<P>Tuesday, April 17, 2007 <BR>Our hearts and prayers truly go out to all of those affected by Cho Seung-Hui's evil actions. But not even senseless, brutal murder justifies taking away the God-given rights of the law-abiding. <BR>It is also worthwhile to note that Virginia Tech is -- because of deliberate policies set by its administration -- a victim disarmament zone, where even those with a state-issued concealed carry permit are denied their right of self-defense. <BR><BR>In fact, pro-gun forces just last year tried to get the Virginia legislature to address the problem. The bill to allow permit holders to carry on state-supported college campuses died, due in no small part to rabid opposition from Virginia Tech itself. VT spokesman Larry Hincker put it this way after it became obvious that the bill would not pass: "I'm sure the university community is appreciative of the General Assembly's actions because this will help parents, students, faculty and visitors feel safe on our campus." <BR><BR>The unfortunate irony continues when one recalls that not long ago, two students at nearby Appalachian School of Law managed to stop a gunman at that institution. Happily, they were able to dash off-campus to retrieve their guns from their vehicles. <BR><BR>Four GOA spokesmen (one based in downtown D.C. and three at our Springfield, VA office just outside the Beltway) are working non-stop -- doing literally interview after interview -- making certain that the above points reach the public.&nbsp; <BR><BR>GOA has appeared on Fox News, ABC, CNN, BBC -- lots of alphabet soup networks -- as well as countless talk shows like Michael Reagan and Lars Larson. GOA spokesmen have been heard in every major radio market around the country and have done interviews with large print media outlets, such as the Associated Press and U.S. News &amp; World Report. <BR><BR>The overall message that GOA is delivering is that gun prohibitions are part of the problem, not the solution. <BR>We can expect some forms of new gun control to be pushed in the U.S. Congress. The Democrats control Congress, but more importantly, anti-gun politicians control the Democrat party. If House Speaker Nancy Pelosi -- certainly no friend of gun owners -- gives free rein to virulently anti-gun House Judiciary Chairman John Conyers (D-MI), literally anything can make it to the floor of the full House. <BR><BR>Conyers' counterpart in the Senate is Judiciary Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-VT), whose GOA rating of "F" is well-deserved. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada has also earned F. Gun owners will have to be especially vigilant in the coming weeks to block any new attempts to infringe upon the Second Amendment. And whereas the predictable media stampede to give voice to the possibility of such new gun control is certainly there, it does not seem to have the same "this simply must happen now" tone that it did after the Columbine tragedy in 1999. Indeed, the idea of firearms for self-defense in schools is gaining serious traction. Which should not be all that surprising, given a Research 2000 poll which showed that 85% of Americans find it appropriate for a principal or teacher to use "a gun at school to defend the lives of students" in stopping a massacre. </P></BLOCKQUOTE>

<P>Yes, I bet they were appreciative as they were lined up and shot like lemmings.&nbsp; That may sound callous, but oh well.&nbsp; Had students that had gone through the back ground check and training process to become permit holders been allowed to be armed vs. contained in an area that was known to be gun free, I am certain that SOMEONE would have been armed and put an end to the spree long before it came to the conclusion that it did.</P>
<P>Not only that it likely would have come to a conclusion while the police were outside cowering behind their car doors waiting for the SWAT teams to show up, decide what to do, and take some action.&nbsp; Keep in mind numerous court rulings now support that there is no obligation on the police or governments to protect the citizens.&nbsp; Yet, you are robbed of the ability to protect yourself in these environments.</P>
<P>Not only are Fox, CNN, and MSNBC not telling to whole story, they are playing into the anti-gun hysteria, sensationalizing it.&nbsp; The VA Tech administrators that refused to support allowing permit holders to be armed on campus have blood on their hands.&nbsp; Pure and simple.</P>
<P>As for the rest of you that think guns are the problem, that think guns are bad, go shoot one.&nbsp; Get some instruction at a range near you.&nbsp; Go do some research about the DROP in crime rates everywhere that concealed carry laws have gone into place.&nbsp; Pay attention to the fact that the only places these mass shootings take place is schools and other areas where there is a mass of disarmed people.&nbsp; Go do some research on the crime trend in the UK and Australia since disarming victims.&nbsp; Educate yourself on the truth.&nbsp; Realize that the police are not obligated to protect.&nbsp; Realize that if you have a family it is YOUR obligation to protect and defend them.&nbsp; <BR><BR>In short, just educate yourself.<BR></P>]]></content><summary>Once again the mainstream media is off and running. <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>That’s all the gun ban crowd creates.&nbsp; Criminals don’t care about the law.&nbsp; The police will NOT be there to protect you.&nbsp; If you believe that they will you </FONT><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>are only kidding yourself.&nbsp; Look at the pictures from Columbine and VA Tech.&nbsp; Look at the officers hiding behind patrol car doors while people are gunned </FONT><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>down inside the buildings.</FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>Go review the court cases ruling that there is no obligation for the police to protect you.&nbsp; But better yet, why would you sit around waiting and expecting </FONT><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>someone else to protect you?<BR></FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>I do not expect to be protected.&nbsp; I do not expect someone else to protect my family.&nbsp; That is my responsibility and my family’s responsibility.&nbsp; <BR></FONT></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>Arming you and other law abiding citizens does reduce crime.&nbsp; Banning guns does not. If you have any illusions about it, go do some research.&nbsp; Look at the </FONT><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>results in the UK and Australia.&nbsp; You need do no more research than a quick Google and read on the outcomes of their bans and restrictions and the increase </FONT><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>of violent crime.</FONT></P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">7One puzzle is why the media rarely reports the role of guns in ending attacks. Consider the shooting spree at a high school in Pearl, Miss. in 1997 that left two students dead. An assistant principal stopped the attack by retrieving his handgun from his car and physically immobilized the shooter for over five minutes before police arrived. A Lexis-Nexis search indicates that 687 articles appeared the first month after the attack but only 19 stories mentioned the </P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">assistant principal and only 10 mentioned that he used a gun to stop the attack. Some stories simply stated that the assistant principal was “credited by police with helping capture the boy'' or that he had disarmed the shooter. No story that mentioned the assistant principal’s role was aired on the national evening news. A story on CBS with Dan Rather, which ran more than a month later, noted that the assistant principal “eventually subdued the young gunman.” </P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">But these stories provided no explanation how of he had accomplished this feat.&nbsp; <BR><BR>In another, school-related shooting in Edinboro, Pa., which left one teacher dead, the owner of a nearby restaurant, pointed a shotgun at the shooter as he was reloading his gun. The police did not arrive until 11 minutes later. Nearly 600 news stories discussed this crime during the next month, yet only 35 mentioned the restaurant owner’s role. Moreover, these stories did not mention that a shotgun was used to stop the crime. The New York Daily News, for example, explained that the restaurant owner “persuaded [the killer] to surrender,” while The Atlanta Journal wrote how he “chased [the killer] down and held him until police came.”<BR></P>

<P><FONT face="Times New Roman, Times, serif" size=3>Specter: Now, wait a minute. Wait a minute. The Constitution says you can’t take it away, except in the case of rebellion or invasion. Doesn’t that mean you have the right of <I>habeas corpus</I>, unless there is an invasion or rebellion? </FONT></P>
<P><FONT face="Times New Roman, Times, serif" size=3>Gonzales: I meant by that comment, the Constitution doesn’t say, "Every individual in the United States or every citizen is hereby granted or assured the right to <I>habeas</I>." It doesn’t say that. It simply says the right of <I>habeas corpus</I> shall not be suspended except by&nbsp;– </FONT></P>
<P><FONT face="Times New Roman, Times, serif" size=3>Specter: You may be treading on your interdiction and violating common sense, Mr. Attorney General. </FONT></P>

<P><FONT face="Times New Roman, Times, serif" size=3>Of course, Gonzales is partly right. There is no specific "grant" of <I>habeas corpus</I> in the Constitution, because inalienable rights are not doled out by government. America’s founding fathers didn't believe governments grant rights. Instead, they believed (to quote Thomas Jefferson) that "all men … are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." God, not government, grants rights according to the thinking and language of the founders. That’s why George Mason wrote – when framing the Bill of Rights – that "Congress shall make no law" abridging our rights rather than "Every individual is granted" such-and-such a right. The difference is key, because anything government has the legitimate power to give you, it also has the power to take away. The founders said that our rights were unalienable, unable to be removed by the power of government. </FONT></P>
<P><FONT face="Times New Roman, Times, serif" size=3>And nothing – other than life itself – is more essential than the right to liberty. <I>Habeas corpus</I> simply says that government must produce some proof of a crime before locking up a man and taking away his liberty.</FONT><BR>(If you haven’t done so, click the link at the start of that section and actually watch the wicked fool make the statements.)</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>I called him a wicked fool because I don’t actually believe he’s stupid.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>He’s simply wicked.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>He seeks to destroy the Constitution and our liberty right along with it.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>This is the same man that had a top aide state that the President could order the torture of children if he wanted to and a list of other heinous un-American acts.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>The best part is, most Americans are so pathetically and blissfully ignorant of the great gift granted them by the Founding Fathers, that with latte encrusted lips they just smile, occasionally drool, and say, “Thank you for keeping us safe.”</FONT></P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Arial Narrow'"><FONT size=3>The Constitution after all is the Charter of the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">United States of America</st1:place></st1:country-region>.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>It articulates the powers granted to the Federal Government and reserves all others as the domain of the state.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>However the Federal Government now ignores this and grabs and retains powers not granted it.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>The Federal Government has very much adopted the stance of ruling vs. leading.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>No longer is there a sense of Government serving the People.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Quite the contrary, there is a strong sense of the People serving the government.<o:p></o:p></FONT></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Arial Narrow'"><o:p><FONT size=3>&nbsp;</FONT></o:p></SPAN></P>
<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Arial Narrow'"><FONT size=3>The Federal Income Tax is simply illegal and Unconstitutional.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Worse it isn’t even driven by actual laws that empower it.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Like the comment that starts this article off.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Congress was not granted this power.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>The Federal Government was not delegated this power at all.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Congress may pass either direct taxation (such as the gas tax.) or an apportioned tax (one that is split equally among the people in <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">America</st1:place></st1:country-region>.)<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Typically an apportioned tax would actually be split to the States based on the populations of those states.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Either way it would be portioned equally to the populace. <o:p></o:p></FONT></SPAN></P>

Worse it isn’t even driven by actual laws that empower it.  Like the comment that starts this article off.  Congress was not granted this power.  The Federal Government was not delegated this power at all.  Congress may pass either direct taxation (such as the gas tax.) or an apportioned tax (one that is split equally among the people in America.)  Typically an apportioned tax would actually be split to the States based on the populations of those states. I was disappointed to find a very normal looking older man and his wife driving along in blissful ignorance.&nbsp; Now keep in mind it was Sunday and as we got closer to a very large church in the area I had a new bright thought, the irony of which was just too much.&nbsp; What if these Neo-Con, torture supporting people were on their way to church?&nbsp; Wouldn't that just be a hoot?<BR><BR>Well sure enough, I wasn't disappointed this time.&nbsp; They turned into the church parking lot, parked, the gentleman grabbed his Bible, and off they went to commune with Yahweh.<BR><BR>While I can't really find any place in the Bible where torture is specifically condemned, I also can't find where it is specifically allowed in general.&nbsp; There would appear to be some acceptance in the Old Testament of its use for crimes commited that a criminal was convicted of.<BR><BR>However this to me is an issue that requires the searching of your heart on two levels.&nbsp; The first is as an American.&nbsp; I cannot condone the use of torture by America against others with the intent of coercion.&nbsp; One it doesn't work and second I believe it to be morally wrong and against the principles this country is founded on.&nbsp; The second search must be into your relationship with Yahweh.&nbsp; I believe you will find that Yahweh does not condone the torture of men by men and certainly not in the absence of any wrong doing.<BR><BR>Perhaps more important and in fact most important is simply the caption of the sticker, "Lock The Terrorsits Up!"<BR><BR>How long before that gentlemen is labeled a terrorist?&nbsp;How long before you are?&nbsp; If you've been following any of the events since 9/11 you should be very concerned.<BR><BR>The Patriot Act on has seen massive amounts of legislation and worse simple Executive Orders, that strip your liberties and protections.&nbsp; They will manage to subvert Habeus Corpus with regards to US Citizens.&nbsp; Have no fear of that.&nbsp; <BR><BR>Just like this section from the latest NIE report:<BR><BR><BR><FONT face=TimesNewRoman>

Michael Hayden, expected to be named new director of the CIA, replacing Porter Goss as early as Monday, displayed a shaky awareness of the Fourth Amendment in an appearance at the National Press Club in Washingnon, D.C., on January 23, E&amp;P reported at the time. <BR><BR>Hayden, the former national director of the National Security Agency, was much in the news at the time as a defender of the NSA's domestic spying program. <BR><BR>Hayden, now principal deputy director of National Intelligence with the Office of National Intelligence, was NSA director when the NSA monitoring program began in 2001. <BR><BR>As the last journalist to get in a question at the Press Club, Jonathan Landay, a well-regarded investigative reporter for Knight Ridder, noted that Gen. Hayden repeatedly referred to the Fourth Amendment's search standard of "reasonableness" without mentioning that it also demands "probable cause." Hayden seemed to deny that the amendment included any such thing, or simply ignored it. He directly said "no" it did not include "probable cause." <BR><BR>This caused Landay to reply, "The legal standard is probable cause, General." <BR><BR><BR>***<BR><BR>QUESTION: Jonathan Landay with Knight Ridder. I'd like to stay on the same issue, and that had to do with the standard by which you use to target your wiretaps. I'm no lawyer, but my understanding is that the Fourth Amendment of the Constitution specifies that you must have probable cause to be able to do a search that does not violate an American's right against unlawful searches and seizures. Do you use -- <BR><BR>GEN. HAYDEN: No, actually -- the Fourth Amendment actually protects all of us against unreasonable search and seizure. <BR><BR>QUESTION: But the -- <BR><BR>GEN. HAYDEN: That's what it says. <BR><BR>QUESTION: But the measure is probable cause, I believe. <BR><BR>GEN. HAYDEN: The amendment says unreasonable search and seizure. <BR><BR>QUESTION: But does it not say probable -- <BR><BR>GEN. HAYDEN: No. The amendment says -- <BR><BR>QUESTION: The court standard, the legal standard -- <BR><BR>GEN. HAYDEN: -- unreasonable search and seizure. <BR><BR>QUESTION: The legal standard is probable cause, General. You used the terms just a few minutes ago, "We reasonably believe." And a FISA court, my understanding is, would not give you a warrant if you went before them and say "we reasonably believe"; you have to go to the FISA court, or the attorney general has to go to the FISA court and say, "we have probable cause." <BR><BR>And so what many people believe -- and I'd like you to respond to this -- is that what you've actually done is crafted a detour around the FISA court by creating a new standard of "reasonably believe" in place of probable cause because the FISA court will not give you a warrant based on reasonable belief, you have to show probable cause. Could you respond to that, please? <BR><BR>GEN. HAYDEN: Sure. I didn't craft the authorization. I am responding to a lawful order. All right? The attorney general has averred to the lawfulness of the order. <BR><BR><SPAN style="BACKGROUND: yellow; mso-highlight: yellow">Just to be very clear -- and believe me, if there's any amendment to the Constitution that employees of the National Security Agency are familiar with, it's the Fourth. And it is a reasonableness standard in the Fourth Amendment. And so what you've raised to me -- and I'm not a lawyer, and don't want to become one -- what you've raised to me is, in terms of quoting the Fourth Amendment, is an issue of the Constitution.</SPAN> The constitutional standard is "reasonable." <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><SPAN style="COLOR: #333399"><FONT size=3><FONT face="Times New Roman">Daily I encounter people that think the concept of a New World Order (NWO) <SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp;</SPAN>or One World Government (OWG) is a bunch of tin foil hated conspiracy nonsense.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>For that matter there was a time when I said the same thing.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>I freely admit that.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>I was engineered to say that and feel that way.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>However I’ve always had a fiercely ideological streak.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>I was raised to believe in God and my Christian heritage.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Although I admit I am not from an every Sunday church attending family.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Rather I would say I was raised with a Jeffersonian view on religion.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Organized religion is corruptible and in almost every instance has been today.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>A man’s beliefs are his own and God controls my actions.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>I do not need a priest or preacher to tell me right from wrong.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>In fact that is why I don’t like churches, I can feel the corruption.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Yes I can feel the power of God and belief there as well, but darkness besmirches the modern church. <SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp;&nbsp;</SPAN>However I do not want to digress and turn this into a religious debate because that is not the intent.<o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><SPAN style="COLOR: #333399"><FONT size=3><FONT face="Times New Roman">So there was a time when I thought anyone that actually believed that there could be such a thing as the New World Order or a One World Government was a crackpot.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>But then my ideological streak, my beliefs, my growing sense of things not being right, or for that matter the actions of the Government simply defying logic, ran smack into knowledge I could no longer deny.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Christianity is under attack in this country and has been for a long time.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>If you don’t believe me spend some time arguing with people that the <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">United States</st1:place></st1:country-region> was founded on Christian principle and ideology.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>The evidence to support that statement is irrefutable, but so many people have been corrupted by the government education system in <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">America</st1:place></st1:country-region>, that you simply cannot get through to them.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Many will go as far as to tell you half the Founding Fathers were atheists and the like; completely ignoring the writings and statements of the very people they are talking about.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>It’s gotten to the point where I don’t even waste time arguing with them any more.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>It’s easier to focus on those that can be saved and no I do not mean saved in a biblical sense, rather saved from the servitude that is coming their way.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Yes, in the end I’m saying that much like the American Revolution that spawned this country, in the end it will be a small segment of the population that will stand and fight tyranny.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>True Americans, I’m certain that should that time come (really I mean when because I really don’t believe it is avoidable at this point) the New family will be standing by my side defending <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">America</st1:place></st1:country-region>.<o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></P>

<P><SPAN style="COLOR: #333399"><FONT size=3><FONT face="Times New Roman">The point of all that?<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>If you have any trouble believing that the NWO or attempts to break our sovereignty and move towards a OWG are true, the Michael New story, the book written by his father that I recommended above, should go a long way to help you see the light.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>We are under attack and have been since at the very least the seventies by the highest levels of academia.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>During the 1973 International Education Seminar, Harvard psychiatrist Chester M. Pierce, speaking as an expert in public education, said:<o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><SPAN style="COLOR: #333399"><FONT size=3><FONT face="Times New Roman">In reality we have been under attack for far longer than that.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Most of you have by this time discovered the trap that credit cards are.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>It’s a one way road of never being out of date.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Always owning as much or more as you did before.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>The American Government is being held hostage by the same system that holds you hostage.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>The Federal Reserve System is what has led to your problems as well as the 8.5 trillion dollar National Debt.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>It’s not accident that the Federal Reserve System and Income Tax were put into play at the same time.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>A private banking institution that you are forced to pay money to, which then provides loans to the Federal Government to operate on.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>The rich and powerful bankers get all the money, loan it to everyone for a profit, while having been established and funded by overseas interests.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Nope, no conflict of interest there, bound to be good for Americans.<o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><SPAN style="COLOR: #333399"><FONT size=3><FONT face="Times New Roman">So what are the basics of the Michael New story?<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>During the United Nations deployment to <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Macedonia</st1:place></st1:country-region> a Finnish general was to be given command of a U.N. force being deployed to the region.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>American troops were to join that expedition but not as American military units, rather as U.N. military units.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Michael’s unit was ordered to move the American Flag patch of their uniforms to the left sleeve, placing the U.N. patch on the right sleeve where the American Flag belongs.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>In addition they were to wear a blue scarf and helmet/cap/beret.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Essentially his unit was being transformed from a United States Army unit into a United Nations military unit.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Michael New addressed his concerns over this order with his Superiors and was dismissed with no basis being provided on it being a legal order.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>In the end, Michael refused to wear a U.N. uniform as this is constitutionally not an option as a member of the American military.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>He did show up in formation wearing the appropriate <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">United States</st1:place></st1:country-region> uniform.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>For this he was court-martialed.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>During his court-martial all evidence supporting why the order was an unlawful order was suppressed.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Even looking at the United States Code regarding the flag proves this order in questionable.<o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></SPAN></P>

For example, in 1995 the UN disarmed Bosnians of Srebrenica, promising them protection. The UN troops then withdrew, Srebrenica was overrun and over 8,000 now-disarmed people were murdered by the Serb army.</SPAN><SPAN style="COLOR: black"><o:p></o:p></SPAN></FONT></FONT></P>

Consequently, anxious citizens gathered outside Independence Hall when the proceedings ended in order to learn what had been produced behind closed doors. The answer was provided immediately. A Mrs. Powel of <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Philadelphia</st1:place></st1:City> asked Benjamin Franklin, "Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?" With no hesitation whatsoever, <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City w:st="on">Franklin</st1:City></st1:place> responded, "A republic, if you can keep it." This exchange was recorded by Constitution signer James McHenry in a diary entry that was later reproduced in the 1906 <SPAN style="mso-bidi-font-style: italic">American Historical Review</SPAN>.<o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></I></P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT size=3><FONT face="Times New Roman"><st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">America</st1:place></st1:country-region> was a republic.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>A democratic republic comprised of a union of sovereign states.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>So there is an edge of a democracy to what <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">America</st1:place></st1:country-region> was created as, but it was never a simple <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">democracy.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN></I>A democracy in the eyes of the founders (and they were right) could easily and quickly become as bad or worse than any despotism.</FONT></FONT></P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt 0.5in"><I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal"><FONT size=3><FONT face="Times New Roman">The Founding Fathers supported the view that (in the words of the Declaration of <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Independence</st1:place></st1:City>) "Men are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights." <SPAN style="BACKGROUND: yellow; mso-highlight: yellow">They recognized that such rights should not be violated by an unrestrained majority any more than they should be violated by an unrestrained king or monarch</SPAN>. In fact, they recognized that majority rule would quickly degenerate into mobocracy and then into tyranny. They had studied the history of both the Greek democracies and the Roman republic. They had a clear understanding of the relative freedom and stability that had characterized the latter, and of the strife and turmoil quickly followed by despotism that had characterized the former. In drafting the Constitution, they created a government of law and not of men, a republic and not a democracy.<o:p></o:p></FONT></FONT></I></P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>Fisher Ames served in the U.S. Congress during the eight years of George Washington’s presidency. A prominent member of the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:State w:st="on">Massachusetts</st1:State></st1:place> convention that ratified the Constitution for that state, in an essay entitled The Mire of Democracy; he wrote that the framers of the Constitution "intended our government should be a republic, which differs more widely from a democracy than a democracy from despotism."</FONT></P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>It’s important to understand all of this because once you do it will become abundantly clear moving forward to the 20<SUP>th</SUP> century why our liberties are being stripped from us as our country turns ever more socialistic.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>I cannot stress enough the great peril this places <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">America</st1:place></st1:country-region> in.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Do you care?<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Perhaps you do and perhaps you do not.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Should you find that you are in the camp of disconnection and apathy; do you have children?<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Grandchildren?<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>In what kind of world do you wish them to live?<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>If it is a socialist tyranny then there is nothing to worry about.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>We will achieve that state likely within the next 15 years.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>We are already on the path and it should be recognizable to anyone that even glances within the next 3 years.</FONT></P>
